The end of Jokes

I am worried that the demise of the Jay Leno show signals the end of jokes as we know it. The network has already said that the new show will emphasize more skits and less monologue.  The Monologue, the home of jokes.  Setup, punch, Setup punch.  This is what I think of when I think of a comedian.  The great ones, Henny Youngman, Rodney Dangerfield, Phyllis Diller, to name only a few, could get 9 or ten laughs a minute. Try doing that with sketch comedy.  Send in the comics.
